Checking In – Weekly WI
I am very excited today. Today is my weekly weigh in and I have lost 3 pounds this week. That gives me a total of -12.4 pounds in 5 weeks!! I have been doing my daily peek at the scale in the mornings and was losing an ounce here and there, but I have been stuck on the same number for the last two days. It just seems like that little bit of extra weight drops the day of my weigh in. So I planned this week being about a 1.5 or 2 pound weigh loss. I’m not complaining. T
hree pounds is way better than that.
I got the Leslie Sansone Walk Diet dvd in the mail on Thursday and tried it for the first time. I think it’s one of the beginner videos with 1 and 2 miles. It’s really not very hard at all. My heart rate goes up and I sweat a little bit. I wish it was a little more challenging, though. I kind of took the safe route when I chose a video because I wasn’t sure how much I could do. I think I might try one of her more challenging videos.
My goal for the week is to drop 1.7 pounds for my week 6 weigh in. I think it’s very possible.

I think you shouldn’t have a weight loss goal for a week over a pound. Slow weight loss is more likely to lead to easier maintenance. I’m reading Thin for Life. It’s about people who finally got off the diet roller coaster and stayed at maintenance weight for more than 3 years. Some of the people in the book have lost over a hundred pounds and kept it off for many years. You have to see maintenance as a continuation of your diet. You can’t go back to your habits before losing weight.
I see this as that I’ll never be able to have cake, cookies or other high fat sweets daily and that I’ll need to keep exercising on the regular basis. I might need to do more for maintenance, but I doubt it since I currently eat a rather healthy vegetarian diet.
Your doing great! I like the WATP video’s too. I just bought the Biggest Loser one, but haven’t opened it yet. Good luck with everything!
