Get Healthy!

As my new year resolution for 2008, I have decided to start a new blog and attempt to keep it. Since I started a new blog, I have decided to write a little bit about what I’ve been up to since the start of the new year. Since the start of 2008, I have joined Weight Watchers. During the summer of 2007, I spent a lot of time with my nieces and nephews who came to visit me. When I was looking at the videos and pictures taken, I was disgusted at what I saw. I was the heaviest I had ever been and I did not recognize myself anymore. It was necessary that I focus on getting healthy for myself and my little nieces and nephews. So my quest began… From September to November, I lost about 8 pounds on my own. Then the “Holiweeks” came around and I totally lost focus. I weighed myself after the new year and saw that I had gained every pound back. … Back to the beginning… So instead of trying to do it alone , I joined Weight Watchers to help me manage my weight loss.

I joined WW two weeks ago tomorrow. My first weigh-in was, what I thought, pretty good. The scale read that I had lost 6.5 pounds. I have changed scales since then to, what I think, is a more accurate scale. It says I weigh about 1 pound more than I was a week ago. The good thing is, neither scale says I weigh as much as my starting weight. Tomorrow is my second weigh-in. I am not that nervous, but I am hoping to have lost at least a pound or two. My mom joined me in my quest to be a healthier me. It really helps to have someone to join me in all of this. She weighs a lot less than me and has a lot less weight to lose, but once her extra weight is off (and mine), it will be just a way of life.

My goal for 2008…to be a healthier me. :)
